Why would you plot your childs growth chart percentile using WHO growth charts when a few taps on the Instant Growth Chart Percentile calculator app result to the same percentile data. Determining the curve on the WHO growth charts that corresponds to the percentile takes about 1 to 3 minutes and prone to error.

The Instant Growth Chart Percentile app has 3 medical calculators for use by pediatricians, medical assistants, nurses, students, medical billers, and parents.

1. Instant Growth Chart Percentile Calculator - Computes growth chart percentile data for girls or boys from birth to 24 months using formulas and data from World Health Organization (WHO) growth charts.

The Instant Growth Chart Percentile calculator displays percentile data from the IGCP database that matches the age, sex, height, weight, and head circumference entered. Percentile results include:

a. Length-for-Age (from birth to 24 months)
b. Weight-for-Age (from birth to 24 months)
c. Head Circumference-for-Age (from birth to 24 months)
d. Weight-for-Length (from birth to 24 months)

Source of data: The app has a SQLite© database embedded on the device. The IGCP database contains data extracted from the WHO growth charts.

2. Body Mass Index (BMI) Percentile for Girls and Boys Ages 2 to 20 - The BMI portion of the Instant Growth Chart Percentile app displays the BMI Percentile view that computes for the BMI using a formula and the IGCP database.

The resulting BMI in Kg/m², determines the BMI percentile. BMI data is part of the IGCP database extracted from the CDC .xls files for Body Mass Index (BMI) Percentile for Girls and Boys Ages 2 to 20.

Source of data: The BMI calculator shares a SQLite© database used by Instant GCP embedded on the device. The IGCP database contains data extracted from the CDC BMI charts.

3. Temperature converter is an add-on view to the Instant GCP and BMI for convenience to convert temperature from Celsius to Fahrenheit and vice-versa. It shows normal temperatures for adults and infants.

Disclaimer: The developer’s role in creating the Instant Growth Chart Percentile app is to provide parents, students, pediatricians, and other medical personnel a way to present growth chart percentile information in a more meaningful medium rather than the hard to plot and interpret paper growth chart percentiles. Overall, your pediatrician is the last call in interpreting the results of the Instant GCP app calculator. Furthermore, the developer is not responsible or liable for misuse of the data extracted from this application.

Disclosure: Instant Growth Chart Percentile data was imported from the public World Health Organization (WHO) growth spreadsheet files. The Instant Growth Chart Percentile app uses this data to compute for growth chart percentile for infants and children from birth to 24 months as suggested by Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reference http://www.cdc.gov/growthcharts/who_charts.htm. CDC BMI data for boys and girls ages 2 to 20 years was also imported from the public CDC spreadsheet reference http://www.cdc.gov/growthcharts/percentile_data_files.htm. Both data were stored in the SQLite database embedded on the device.
